We’ve had the Nuvi 1390T for a month or so now and really like it. It’s a good size, has great features and the bundled NuMaps Lifetime Update Subscription makes it a great value!
We live in Outstate MN, so the Jct View and Traffic Updates don’t come into play for us unless we are traveling away from home. Of course, that is when those items really come in handy as most people are familiar with the junctions and traffic patterns near home.
We had some on screen advertisements pop-up recently while in the Minneapolis area. They’re a bit annoying, but seemed to go away fairly quickly and didn’t block a significant portion of the screen.

My son bought the same GPS for my Christmas—-I love it. He did a lot of research prior to buying it. His personal GPS was stolen and I decided to replace it for his birthday in March. As he really keeps up with “technology” I did not want to make a decision on what type GPS to purchase; he told me he would be delighted with the same one that he had purchased for me. A bonus was that I paid a lot less for the one he purchased for me. I travel a lot by plane and find my GPS easy to carry and use in rental cars—it is easy to use and gets me where I need to go every time. Read more...

I’ve put off buying a GPS for some time now, but finally purchased this unit/model. It is not only simple … it is AMAZING and the handiest device you can ever own. Don’t buy anything more than this model UNLESS you travel full time for recreation and want to know every site in the world to visit. This model does it all and does it well! The Good:
I got this unit last week, it works great, I did not want Bluetooth or traffic, I wanted a GPS that would recalculate routes quickly and this unit does this very well. It is very easy to use and it provides great guidance on where to turn next, etc.

I purchased a different Garmin for my parents which cost 3 times as much as this one. I loved the fetures so when I was looking for one I went straight for Garmin. This one is so much smaller and easy to store away even in your pocket. It performs the same as the bigger models.Size does matter. Read more...

Design:
Garmin designs seems to have decided to make practical devices, rather than striking device with angular designs. The Garmin nüvi 265WT GPSNavigator is black and has a simple design. Measuring 4.8 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches and weighs 6.1 ounces, it is quite easy and, indeed, very portable. It has a large 4.3-inch touchscreen, which is very easy to use and intuitive. The images are displayed on the screen and can be seen clearly from different angles. The images were clear even in bright sunlight.

It is very diffucult to find a better value for a GPS. This little workhorse does everything all the more expensive ones do without some bells and whistles. I can tell you from experience that bluetooth phone capabilities are a waste of money as well as traffic which is often innacurate. The 255 is the best bang for the buck available of any GPS manufacturer. I paid for a refurbished unit which has been flawless! The lifetime map updates are under at the garmin website. for 0 I have the only GPS I will ever need. I previously owned a Garmin 200 which was stolen out of my truck, which was a good little GPS as well. I have used Tom Tom and Magellan which I found to be much more difficult to use and get signals. My Garmin locks on to satellites immediatly, and automatically re-routes immediatly when you get off course. You can’t lose with the Garmin! There are no negitives in this unit! For under 0 there is no comparison on the market today! You will not be dissapointed. They should really give a Guarantee! because these units are as good as it gets, hands down. You could spend 4 times as much on another brand and it wouldn’t compare to this accurate reliable unit. I have yet to be dissapointed with any aspect of the unit. You can even use google maps with The Garmin Map program and make and download any route you wish with added waypoints etc.and save and load them with an SD card. I can see where this could be usefull for delivery drivers etc., but I have yet to use the program. It is easier for me to just map out a route and then program in each stop as a favorite and then just punch in wherever I need to go! Garmin is so intuitive you really don’t need to do anything but punch Go! and you are there! For the average Driver other than (A delivery Driver or a Trucker) this is the only way to go.
